Centered around Beijing Daxing International Airport, the BDIAEZ of that of Beijing Daxing District will serve as a testing ground and provide support to top candidates, advancing the industrialization and launching of their projects, the organizer said.

In addition to prizes, they will be recommended to investors and benefit from the advice of industry leaders and renowned academics, the organizer added.

The competition is among the events organized by the BDIAEZ recently, as it calls for plans and designs for the development of the international C&E and consumer center. The project aims to promote convention and exhibition business, as well as stimulate consumption.

The central area of the BDIAEZ covers approximately 150 square kilometers, of which 50 square kilometers are beijing and the rest in the nearby town Hebei Province. The International C&E and Consumer Center will be positioned in the eastern area of the beijing section.

The State Council approved the establishment of the economic zone in 2016, with the strategic objectives of transforming it into a function-bearing zone for international trade, a leading zone for national aviation technology and a demonstration zone for the coordinated development of beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, according to the administrative committee.

By taking advantage of the airport and the preferential policies of the functional zones, the BDIAEZ is building a pole where the world’s resources are concentrated as well as a new engine of regional economic growth.

BDIAEZ’s comprehensive industrial model has taken shape, with the life and health industry as the leader, high-end services and aviation security as the base, and next-generation information technology and state-of-the-art equipment as a reserve.

Six major industrial parks have been launched, including a free trade zone innovation service center, a medical equipment smart manufacturing park, a biomedical incubator and an international business complex.

The BDIAEZ is the only area of beijing which adopts the favorable policies of the Zhongguancun Free Trade Zone and Science Park, a high-tech demonstration zone in the capital, while following the city’s strategies to open up its service sector.

The administrative committee of BDIAEZ now has 80 administrative rights, including 49 delegated by the Daxing district government and 31 by the municipal authorities.

Significant progress has been made in creating a business-friendly environment with streamlined approval procedures and optimized services.

The BDIAEZ also provides personalized assistance to companies in difficulty, while setting up an online service platform to enhance the efficiency of approvals.

The economic zone plans to sign 20 megaprojects and put six into production this year, according to the administrative committee.

He will continue to push forward reforms, develop export-oriented industries and ensure the smooth operation of the airport.

By 2035, a modern, smart and environmentally friendly economic zone will have been built. It will play a key role in promoting quality regional development, according to the area’s development plan.
